Interesting things on Minima
Details
Given the history of unexpected scams in our industry, please take care before installing or using any dapps. In particular, you should not normally give them "write" permission.
Here is a list of some projects:
- Chatter. A decentralized, scalable, and permissionless microblogging, social media and messaging network. Available via the Minima dappstore, via your Minima app.
- MaxSolo. P2P chat. Again, see the Minima dappstore. Sign up your family and friends, or find community members via the "chatter-maxima" Discord channel.
- Wallet. You can create your own token, with an image, at almost zero cost. Create as many as you want.
- Maximise. Staking of Minima, for reward.
- MiniSwap. P2P exchange of native Minima and some key ERC-20 tokens.
Learn to code
Here is one way to get started, using a computer, with no tuition fees. Do these in parallel:
- Work through Minima's published docs and tutorials.
- Refer to W3Schools, starting with HTML. You can get a simple website running by page three! This is not difficult, and highly satisfying. Then, from the banner across the top, check out CSS, Javascript and Node.js - depending on the width of your screen, they may all appear at the top, or you can search for them.
- Say hello in the Minima community dev chat on Discord - 1: link at the bottom of Minima.global, 2: sign up for "Community Developer" role in the Discord role-picker. It is a friendly, supportive environment.
Congratulations!
- When you made that first website, and excitedly changed "Hello World" to whatever you chose to see what would happen, you became a developer.
- And when you changed a dapp from the tutorial, you became a Web3 developer.

Spend up to 25 minutes watching Spartacus Rex walk through the core interface, giving a "Developer Introduction to Minima" on YouTube. He was and is the key developer. Within a few minutes, you will see if Minima resonates.
FAQ on coding
If you can code a bit and want to get involved:
- - Fun and personal satisfaction.
- - Helping the world move forward.
- - Profit.
- - You will need a personal computer.
- - Creating a website, initially to run on your own computer, is not difficult. If you are reading this, you can do it.
- - Building on Minima will take considerably longer and will be a journey of discovery. Make a start, learn as you go, and see how you get on. You will be looking at something cutting edge.
- - How about a game? It could be extremely simple, even text based, or with a few images thrown in (over a million available free at Pixabay). At the moment the field is wide open, and people are ready to experiment using this exciting new chain.
- - Or indeed any familiar tools you may have seen on other chains - probably cheaper on Minima, and with strong decentralisation.
- - Now! While there is still so much opportunity.
- - Minima has a grant funding programme.
- - There are community members looking to invest - try the Discord. At this stage it will likely be only small sums. You need to be clear what you will contribute, which probably will have to include a willingness to write code - "I have an idea, would anyone like to fund it and write it" is unlikely to attract attention from busy people who have already had or seen many good ideas. You will also likely need to establish a reputation first.
- - Minima is planning an incentive programme to encourage people to share materials as they work on projects.
- - Many people prefer to work in teams, or at least have contact wth others. Go to the dev-chats on the Minima Discord and speak up. Someone will reply.
- - You can also try the jobs-board channel on the Minima Discord.
